The gooseneck is VERY HEAVY DUTY, so MAKE SURE you mount it to a 2x4 stud. I have not mounted it yet, but I bought 2-2 inch H.D. I don't have much room for a large lamp. As I know it will need. I needed a lamp next to my recliner that had a long gooseneck. One that I could attach to the wall, so I can read morning devotionals and my BIBLE first thing. bolts to mount it through the drywall into the studs.
